Hi I'm Hayley. It's nice to meet you! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Registered Dietitian (RD), as well as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant (CEDS-C). I maintain two practices, one devoted to psychotherapy and nutritional counseling in Los Angeles and the other to nutritional counseling in New York.
I practice as a trauma-informed, social justice, and Health at Every Size (HAES)® clinician. I recognize the gentrification of the HAES movement and support the people of color and those with marginalized identities who formed the movement. I practice as a pro-fat liberation, fat positive, anti-diet, anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and center lived experiences. My identities are as follows: white, pansexual and pan-romantic, financially secure, straight-sized, cisgender woman. I am married to a South Asian American cisgender man.
While I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2013, I have been working with clients battling addiction since 2011 and clients with eating disorders and trauma since 2012. My experiences with these populations have led me to my current approach, which takes cues from many psychological schools of thought. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Somatic Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Brainspotting, EMDR techniques, art therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
I use all of my education and experience to tailor each session to the individual client with whom I am working. I endeavor to treat the whole person in my approach, using my background in nutrition and counseling to craft a well-rounded therapeutic program. In addition, I pull from my own personal experiences with disordered eating and trauma to inform my empathetic approach to my clients’ struggles. My focus is on helping my clients heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths by providing a neutral safe space for them to explore their inner landscapes and carve a path forward for themselves.
Populations treated
I work with both adolescents and adults of all identities. I have worked in higher levels of care treating those with eating disorders and drug and alcohol addictions. I mainly work with individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image issues, relationship issues, mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and dissociative disorders.
I understand the strength it takes to reach out for care and look forward to serving as your guide on your journey to recovery.
